Our Grape Seed Extract is standardized to yield 9.5 mg (95%)
proanthocyanidins (PCOs) per 10 mg capsule. PCOs are unique because they are bioavailable; they are easily absorbed and quickly distributed throughout the body. They go to work wherever they are needed right away! PCOs also actively permeate the blood-brain barrier, meaning that they can safely enter the brain to reduce or prevent free radical damage to brain tissue.
PCOs are a special class of
water soluble bioflavonoids that are potent antioxidants. In some
comparative tests, PCOs were found to be 50 times more potent than Vitamin
E and 20 times more potent than Vitamin C. Antioxidants help reduce damage to
the body by harmful “free radicals.” By destroying free radicals, antioxidants such as the PCOs found in Grape seed Extract help to detoxify and protect a dog or cat from cellular damage and immune system dysfunction.
PCOs prevent the release of
histamine from mast cells thereby reducing the adverse effects of
histamine. Unlike pharmaceutical antihistamines that only block allergic attack symptoms after histamines have been released, the PCOs in Grape Seed Extract can inhibit key enzymes that affect histamine release. By regulating histamine release, Grape Seed Extract can reduce the physiological responses without side effects.
PCOs inhibit the activity of certain pro-inflammatory enzymes. They also inhibit enzyme activity that destroys collagen and elastin which are the principal components of connective tissue, skin, bone, cartilage, and ligaments. PCOs support capillary strength. Weak capillaries can contribute to bruising, elastin and collagen dysfunction, edema and circulatory insufficiencies.

Each capsule provides: 10 mg Grape Seed Extract (Vitis vinifera).
Standardized to yield 95% (9.5 mg) proanthocyanidins (PCO's) which are

Ingredients: Rice Powder, Grape Seed Extract.
As a dietary supplement, give two capsules per 10 lbs of body weight for
7-10 days, then give one capsule per 10 lbs of body weight daily. Give
orally or break capsule open and mix with food. For doses of more than one
capsule, divide between AM and PM.
